The Marist New Parents' Support Program was established for current parents to contact the parents of all new students entering Marist in the fall. Experience has shown that often the new parents have as many questions/concerns as the new students. This outreach has been appreciated by many of our new Marist parents.
Volunteers are needed to do the following:
• Call approximately three to five families in early summer to welcome them to Marist and answer any questions they may have. A list of potential issues to discuss will be provided.
• Make at least one additional phone call in the first weeks of August to see if there are additional concerns with orientation and school opening.
• Must be present on Monday, August 24, 2009 from 5:45-7:00 P.M. To help welcome and socialize with new parents during the first night of Orientation.
• Contact parents again in late September or early October to discuss any new issues that may be in question once the school year is underway.
WE WANT TO THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO FOR MARIST TO MAKE IT A SPECIAL PLACE FOR OUR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES.
If you have any questions, please contact Patty Cox Erwood
at or Robyn Taylor
, this year's Coordinators of the Marist New Parents' Support Program.
We have handled communication with our volunteers entirely via mail and e-mail. We will try this again this year - no meetings! Those who respond will be mailed a New Parent Support Volunteer Packet the last week in May. Please keep a look out for this important packet and any other correspondence from the New Parents' Support Program.
