Foundations

On Friday, June 5, 2009, seventh and eighth graders will be going on an optional class trip to Lake Lanier Islands Beach and Water Park.  The group will leave Marist at approximately 11:30 a.m. and will depart from the water park at 5:30 p.m. to arrive back on campus at about 6:30 p.m.  Any student who rides the bus to the park must also return to campus on the bus.  The cost is $55.00 and will be charged to your Marist account. The cost will cover admission, lunch, and drinks.  Permission forms were sent home last week and should be returned whether your child is participating or not.  All students will be required to wear a tee-shirt over their swim suits, and it is recommended that they bring towels, flip-flops, and sunscreen. Students may be asked to leave their cellular phones at school. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Kathie Calabrese or Mr. Bruce Hoff.

Weather updates

Mr. Roger Shaddick has updated the weather web page (www.tinyurl.com/n7bu-weather) so it now includes the severe weather warning map for the southeast along with the Southeast NOAA radar.

 

Peer 2 Peer Tutoring

The Marist Peer 2 Peer Tutoring Program needs your help! Please encourage your child to become a oeer 2 peer tutor. We had 48 outstanding tutors for term 2 and term 3 for this year and we want to keep Peer 2 Peer as part of the Marist curriculum. Tutors will be trained in August, once school begins. Tutors are for grades 7-12 in the content areas of Math and Modern Classical Foreign Language. We are looking forward to an outstanding new year!

Physicals

Dr. Laura Bleekrode of Alpharetta Pediatrics will offer sports physicals on Wednesdays, May 27 and  June 3  from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  They will be in Centennial Classroom and the cost is $45.  Appointments can be made by calling the Clinic at 770-457-7201.  Please remember, the sports physical, which is part of the Marist Student Health Form, must be completed between April 1, 2009 and July 15, 2009 and turned in by July 15, 2009.
