The Marist School Communications Department


Department mission

The communications department advances the Marist mission in education by helping the administration, admissions, advancement, alumni, and other departments achieve their strategic goals through advisory, creative, and technical communication services.

 To achieve this mission, the department does the following:

 §  Creates, maintains, and implements standards for the Marist School brand; 

 §  Advises the administration on communication-related policies and works with them to develop communication, public relations, and promotions strategies that further the Marist mission and accomplish institutional goals; 

 §  Consults and trains Marist community members so that they can accomplish their communication goals;

 §  Delivers in-house marketing communications services including copywriting, graphic design, HTML and Flash programming, photography, illustration, print production, media placement, and project management;

 §  Develops and updates the school’s crisis communications plan, and supports the administration in the event of an emergency;

 §  Provides comprehensive media relations, including maintaining the school’s Web site and producing school publications such as Marist Matters, the annual report, and print and electronic parent newsletters;
