Lexy Barton graduated from Marist School in 2003 and joined the Advancement Staff in May 2007. As a Marist student, she cheered for Marist football and basketball, was a member of the Spanish Honor Society, participated in Breakfast Club, and was a Eucharistic Minister. She recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Georgia in May 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Lexy is married to Marist Alum Devin Mizell '01.
As the Advancement Assistant, she provides support to the Annual Fund Director, the Planned Giving Officer, and the Alumni Director. She sits on the Fundraising Steering Committee and the Art at Marist Committee. She also works with the Athletic Department as 9th Grade Football Cheerleading coach.

Major Gift Planning Officer

A native of Atlanta, GA and graduate of class of ’80, Jim Brewster joined Marist in Jan, 2008, in the capacity of Major Gift Planning Officer. Jim will be managing the Planned Giving effort in the School and supporting our efforts around the growth and development of the campus.
Prior to working with Marist School, Jim spent 16 years in a variety of management positions at American Express/Ameriprise Financial Services in Finance, Marketing, and Sales. Prior to American Express he was at Holiday Inn Worldwide with their Corporate Marketing group. Jim is an active Scout leader having led a scout den in recent years and is active with mountain biking and golf.
Jim graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Accounting and resides in the Peachtree Corners area. Jim is married to Vicki and they have two children, daughter Jessica, class of ’12, and son Jimmy.

Jim Burke joined Marist School in January 2003 as Director of the Annual Fund and is responsible for the Parent and Alumni Annual Funds. He also works with the athletic department as assistant cross-country coach for 7th and 8th grade.
Prior to working for Marist, Jim worked for the American College of Rheumatology and the Northeast Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Jim also served in the Georgia Army National Guard as a tank commander for 8 years and was activated for Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
A graduate of North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega, Georgia, Jim has lived in the area, but recently moved into Atlanta. He is married to Connie and they have four children Matthew and Ashley, Marist class of ’11 and ’12 respectively, Grant (age 7), and Anna (age 5).

Leslie comes to Marist after a journalism career with Neighbor Newspapers, where she was a reporter for a year and a half. She is responsible for composing press releases to send to various media outlets outlining the school's accomplishments, fielding media inquiries for news stories, and writing for the school's newsletter and magazine. She graduated from Oglethorpe University in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in Communications.

As Director of Communications, Bob is responsible for marketing communications strategy and creative direction in support of fundraising, admissions, and the development of the Marist School brand. He was founding partner in Atlanta marketing communications firm Studio Tandem, and an Art Director for Cartoon Network. Prior to his work in marketing communications, Bob worked in the field of education as a teacher and administrator. He holds a BFA from the Atlanta College of Art, and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Marketing at the Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University.

Marist School

Margie is a member of the Marist School class of 1985, and joined the Advancement Office in January 2007 as Alumni Director. She serves as the liaison between all alumni and the school, as well as between the school and the Alumni Executive Board. She also assists with annual fund activities, such as the alumni phone-a-thons, and any other special alumni programming. Margie coordinates numerous annual events of the Alumni Association, such as the Homecoming Bar-B-Q, the Young Alumni Christmas Luncheon, the Women’s Luncheon, the Alumni Awards Luncheon, and the Alumni Golf Tournament.
As a Marist student, Margie was the first recipient of the Father Brennan Award. She participated in Spring Musicals, holding the lead in “Bye, Bye Birdie” her senior year. Campus activities included Emmaus, Drill Team, Varsity Cheerleading, and Thespian Honor Society. Margie has been an active member of the Marist Alumni Executive Board since 2002.
After earning a BS from the University of Georgia in 1989, Margie taught school for Marietta City Schools, as well as Sacred Heart Catholic School in Lawrenceburg, TN. After moving back to Georgia in 1992, Margie owned and operated a decorating business until she closed it in 2007 in order to work for Marist School.

As a second-generation Marist Graduate and native Atlantan, Trey Levers was excited to return and provide support to the Alumni Program in 2008.
After graduating from Marist School in 2001, Trey attended the University of Georgia and earned a B.S. in Psychology. As an undergraduate, he had an award-winning internship with a fortune 25 company. More recently, Trey gained valuable event planning and promotion experience in the service industry.
During his time at Marist, Trey participated in wrestling, student council, retreats, fine arts productions, and other activities.

Allison joined Marist School in July 2006, and provides administrative support to both the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and the Major Gifts Officer. Additionally, Allison serves on the school’s Campaign Planning Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, and Advancement Committee, and assists with special events as needed.
Allison brings over 12 years of executive administrative experience to Marist School, having worked 4 years at the franchise headquarters for FOCUS Brands, Inc. in Atlanta (franchisor of Carvel Ice Cream, Cinnabon, and Seattle’s Best International), and 8 years at Durasol Awning Systems, Inc. in New York.
Allison is a graduate of Grace Institute, a parochial business school located in New York City, where she earned her certification in secretarial sciences.

Katie graduated from Florida State University in 2001, and comes to Marist with 4 years of database administration experience. Working in Florida for The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art, and more recently with the Georgia Aquarium, Katie's experience with donor and member databases is quite extensive. Currently, Katie is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the alumni and donor database with the Advancement Department. Other responsibilities include custom reporting, preparing mailings, recognition directories, and gift entry and acknowledgments.

Dan joined Marist School in June 2008 in the capacity of Major Gifts Officer. Dan’s primary responsibilities include managing relationships with foundations, including reporting and stewardship as well as proposal and grant writing. Dan also supports overall efforts to articulate the school’s goals and needs with the aim of financially engaging alumni, parents, and friends in the school’s mission.
Prior to working with Marist School, Dan spent 26 years with BellSouth in a variety of staff and management positions including Internal Auditing, Corporate Accounting and Reporting, and Financial Planning and Analysis. Dan is also a Certified Public Accountant and worked for a regional public accounting firm prior to joining BellSouth.
Dan has made his home in Atlanta since 1977. He is a graduate of Indiana University – Bloomington and holds a BS in Business. Dan has two children, Eric and Diana, Marist class of ’03 and ’06, respectively.

Lisa Robinson joined Marist School in June 2001 as Director of Advancement and is responsible for fundraising, alumni relations, communications including the website, and strategic planning.
Prior to working for Marist, Lisa was Vice-President, Merchandising for a home furnishings importer. She worked 11+ years, nationally and internationally for Cotton Incorporated, a not-for-profit marketing and research company, developing programs and helping to create the cotton brand.
A graduate of Miss Porter’s School and Scripps College of the Claremont Colleges in California, Lisa has made Atlanta her home since 1988. She has two daughters, Grace and Betsy, Marist class of ’08 and ‘09 respectively.
