6.1 Eligibility

Eligibility for participation in interscholastic extracurricular activities is governed by the regulations of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA), of which Marist is a member. Eligibility is maintained by earning a C- (70) or higher in five academic subjects per term. This is the GHSA minimum requirement for all member schools. Marist also requires that students maintain a satisfactory disciplinary record to be eligible for extracurricular activities. If the activity requires an expenditure of money, student participation is conditional upon all financial obligations to Marist being current.

6.2 Athletics

Marist provides opportunities for athletic participation at various levels of competition in football, cross country, basketball, soccer, wrestling, swimming, track, baseball, golf, tennis, volleyball, softball, and cheerleading. A physical examination is required prior to athletic participation. Participants in interscholastic athletics should realize that they represent Marist and that their conduct should be a credit to the school. Students and parents will be required to sign a separate and binding Athletic Contract each year.
