Marist Mothers Prayer Group
Marist Moms have been a vital part of the Marist family since the school was established more than a century ago, working behind the scenes in all arenas to keep the “Marist machine” running. In 1978 a group of these Moms got together to form the Marist Mothers’ Prayer Group, a multi-denominational group who believe that one of the best things we can do for our teenage children is PRAY!
Over the last 30 years, the faces have changed, but the concept remains the same. On the first Friday morning every month of the school year, Marist Moms gather in someone’s home to pray for the needs of the Marist students, faculty, staff, and families. The group is open to anyone who would like to attend… no dues, no requirements… it is a great way to connect with other Marist parents from all grades. The monthly meetings are from 10 a.m. to noon, and Moms come and go as needed, based on their busy schedules.
In addition to the monthly meetings, there is an annual day retreat each spring for past and present Marist Moms. Terrific guest speakers are featured each year for the presentation, followed by a lovely luncheon. Other activities of the group include hosting a brunch for the faculty each term and supporting various activities under the umbrella of Marist Campus Ministry.
