Choral

In Tune

Music education is a vital part of becoming roundly educated and prepared for life. In chorus, students learn creative and critical thinking, problem solving, and personal responsibility every day. These lessons are inherent in every music class and are skills which will be advantageous to students long after high school.

The department’s goal is that each student will become the finest musician he or she is capable of becoming. Through the process of progressing as an individual singer and as a member of the performing ensemble, the student will gain an understanding of how music is put together as a composition. Also, he or she will gain a respect for great performers and performances as the class discovers what is required to perform. This respect and appreciation will last throughout life.

In addition, students learn interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and influence a group to work together toward a common goal. Marist singers are successful because they take pride in doing their absolute best every time.
