Middle School

Marist School is on a mission to unlock each student’s God-given greatness.

That begins with deep welcoming, a solid academic foundation, and true belonging.

Our Foundations program for 7th and 8th graders seeks to meet the unique needs of middle school students so they feel part of our community and prepared to embark confidently on their journey towards high school success and beyond.

Why Marist for Middle School?

Academics

To help students realize their full potential, our middle school curriculum empowers them to take tomorrow’s lead. Our Foundations program is designed to prepare students for the academic and extracurricular rigor they will encounter in high school.

Building Community and Finding a Place to Belong

Peer Leaders

We match incoming students with upper-class peer mentors, so they feel part of our community right away. Peer leaders welcome, answer questions, and offer encouragement to new students throughout their first year at Marist.

Houses

Foundations students are assigned to a House, or homeroom, for their 7th grade year and remain together through 8th grade, fostering a strong, consistent bond with peers and a faculty House Leader who serves as a supportive touchstone for these years.

Expanding Horizons with Foundations for Success

Fine Arts

Middle school fine arts programs lay the groundwork for essential skills. Students have the chance to delve into new technology, explore global issues, and engage with contemporary ideas in the arts.

Campus Ministry

Campus ministry opportunities for middle schoolers provide a nurturing environment for spiritual growth and involvement in activities that deepen faith and foster belonging.

Athletics

Foundations students engage in athletic teams that prepare them for high school-level competition and instill qualities essential for becoming outstanding teammates and leaders.

Community Service

Community service is an integral component to each academic year at Marist. Foundations students complete service projects that foster a sense of responsibility, empathy, and civic engagement.

Student Activities

With dozens of extracurricular activities to choose from, 7th and 8th graders have a wide array of offerings to choose from, enabling them to explore their interests and uncover their passions.

Through their involvement with their house and under the watchful eye of their house leaders, Foundations students experience a nurturing small community within the larger Marist community, which helps us instill in them the goals for a Marist graduate that pertain to character development.” Molly CarlinDean of Faculty & Foundations Director
