As Marist School advances the mission entrusted to us by the Society of Mary, Marist priests continue to be an integral part of our community. Their steady presence affirms the spiritual and educational foundation that shapes students, inspires faculty, and enhances our shared life of faith.

Father Ralph Olek, S.M. remains a vital member of the faculty and serves as the superior of the Marist community at the school. He will celebrate his 52nd anniversary of ordination in May and began his 48th year teaching at Marist this past August.

Fathers John Ulrich and Kevin Duggan, S.M. serve as school chaplains, and both are Marist School trustees as well. Father John Harhager, S.M., who completed eight years as vicar general in the Society of Mary’s general administration in Rome last fall, has returned to Marist School and assumes the role of rector. He previously served as president of Marist School from 2008-2017. Under his leadership, the school completed a $37.2 million capital campaign that transformed campus and the educational experience of Marist students.

Father Mark Kenney, S.M. continues in his role as alumni chaplain, remaining closely connected to our extended Marist family. Fr. David Musso, S.M. also lives in the Marist rectory while serving as chaplain for the Marist-sponsored Notre Dame Academy in Duluth, Georgia. In addition, Father Ed Sheehan, S.M. is in residence at the rectory, expanding the circle of support and spiritual guidance available to our students and faculty.

Although no longer living on campus, Bishop Joel M. Konzen, S.M., who served Marist School for 28 years before his episcopal ordination, is a member of the Board of Trustees as well as the Bearing Witness Institute’s Advisory Council. Society of Mary Provincial Superior Father Joe Hindelang, S.M. also is a Marist School trustee along with Father Leon Olszamowski, S.M., the co-founder and corporate president of Notre Dame Preparatory School in Pontiac, Michigan.

Living on campus, ministering to students, and supporting the work of our strategic plan, the Marist priests embody the gentle, compassionate, and merciful spirit of Mary. They are teachers, leaders, and living reminders of our Catholic identity. With gratitude for the legacy they represent and confidence in the road ahead, we look to the future with renewed hope in the lasting influence of the Marists at Marist School.
