Why Parents Value a Marist Education

Pursuit of Mission

Guided by the spirit of the Society of Mary, we are in constant pursuit of our mission to form the whole person in the image of Christ—through daily prayer, monthly school-wide Mass and prayer services, annual spiritual retreats for every grade, domestic and international mission trips, and our comprehensive community service program. While Marist is a Catholic school, we welcome student of all faiths.

A Strong Foundation

Through our Foundations Program for 7th and 8th grades, Marist is uniquely positioned to prepare students for a smooth transition to high school, while also helping them navigate the ups and downs of adolescence. Marist parents deeply appreciate our experienced Foundations teachers whose love of teaching middle school students goes well beyond the classroom. Many also serve as coaches, club and activity moderators, performing arts directors, and more.

College Preparatory

Our commitment to providing a world-class education continually resonates with parents. Nearly all Marist graduates go on to pursue higher educational opportunities. Many attend flagship schools like The University of Georgia and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Others go farther afield, attending schools in the Catholic tradition like the University of Notre Dame and Boston College, Ivy League institutions, and prominent international universities.

Marist School Community

Time and again, parents tell us Marist is their second home. Our deep sense of community and the strong bonds formed among students, parents, and with faculty, staff, and coaches continue long after graduation. With more than 10,000 alumni, the Marist School extended family truly reaches across the country and around the world.

Tradition of Excellence

Marist parents are proud of our legacy as Atlanta’s oldest Catholic school. Located in the vibrant city of Brookhaven, Ga., the diverse Marist School of today took root more than 120 years ago in downtown Atlanta as a Catholic military school for boys. Certainly, much has changed since then, but our commitment to excellence and our passion for helping students realize their full potential remains the same.
