    Three Marist School seniors—Harrison Ford, Isabella Hay, and Natalie Selover—have been named Semifinalists in the 64th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. The nationwide pool of students who qualified as Semifinalists represents less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.

  • Marist Math Team News

    Senior George Fish has advanced to the qualifying round of the American Mathematical Society’s high school contest “Who Wants to Be a Mathematician?”  George will compete in round two against roughly 200 students from the Southeast (Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Kentucky).

  • Faculty and Staff Retreat Explores Ways to Pray

    On August 10, Marist School and Notre Dame Academy joined for the annual faculty and staff retreat focused, this year, on the Marist theme, “Our Relationship with God.” To offer reflections on this theme, Fr. John Walls, S.M. travelled from his native New Zealand, returning to Marist School where he served as the campus ministry director from 2008-2012. His keynote address explored three phrases from the founder of the Society of Mary (Marists), Fr. Jean-Claude Colin: “tasting God, trusting God, and union with God.”

  • Friday Night Fellowship Eclipses Loss on the Field

    Marist School’s campus is often called “the campus that never sleeps.” This was especially true the evening of Friday, September 14, when the War Eagles took on St. Pius X in the annual “Fishbowl.” Before the game, the campus was buzzing with pre-game activities.

  • Students Dig into Archaeology Class

    New to Marist this year, the elective course Archaeology allows students to survey the field of archaeology and conduct an in-depth research project. In the first half of the course, students consider the rise of archaeology from its origins in treasure hunting to a profession in which multidisciplinary teams and technological innovation have become the norm in the field, at the home institution, and in the laboratory. Students learn the basic discourse of archaeology as well as the modes in which material from the past survives, is discovered, dated, and interrogated.
