Welcoming Alumni to Campus for Reunion Weekend 2022

Marist’s 2022 Reunion Weekend was a resounding success! The events held during this special weekend were a celebration of our alumni and an opportunity for friends and classmates to meet face-to-face in a familiar place.
From April 29 - May 2, the Alumni Office hosted the annual Reunion Weekend—back in person after a two-year hiatus. We made up for lost time with gatherings for a total of 22 classes where we welcomed past graduates, friends, and classmates back “home” to Marist.

Director of Alumni Engagement Mrs. Katie Fowler Brown ’06 said, “In a world centered on cell phones, it’s easy to catch up on someone’s life through social media. It’s becoming rarer to meet in person with those from our past who made such a large impact on our lives. We know the importance of connection in our office, and we work year-round to ensure that the tradition of reunions continues. Faces, relationships, and campuses change over the years, but our goal is to keep the Marist family as connected as possible.”

Reunion Weekend kicked off on Friday with a complimentary “Welcome Back BBQ” on campus for all alumni featuring Gezzo’s and Sweet Auburn food trucks, music and trivia provided by DJ and Marist alumnus Matt Osborne ’85, and campus tours. Events continued on Saturday with on- and off-campus parties for classes ending in 1s, 2s, 6s, and 7s. On Sunday morning, Alumni Chaplain Fr. Mark Kenney, S.M. celebrated Family Mass and attendees participated in an alumni community service project in support of Aid the Journey, Inc, a nonprofit founded by alumna Kennedy Walls ’20, who is currently a sophomore at Princeton University.

Activities concluded with the sold-out 30th Annual Alumni Golf Tournament on Monday. While the weekend was a full one, we were grateful for our alumni who took the time to be present with one another and celebrate being together again.
