On Sunday, September 30 at 7 p.m. in Centennial Center, Marist School parents and members of the community are invited to hear author Tom Thelen will speak. Thelen is the founder of the Victimproof Bullying Prevention Program, a curriculum that helps kids speak up to bullying and become a positive influence at their school.
Marist School has been awarded the Georgia High School Association’s Region 7-AAAA Cooperative Spirit Championship Award for the 2017-2018 school year. In selecting the award recipients, the GHSA regional secretaries look to honor schools that show exemplary sportsmanship throughout the school year. The award is not only a school honor, but a community honor as well.
Marist School’s 2018 Ivy Street Reunion Luncheon took place on Wednesday, June 6 in Ivy Street Center, the building named for the location of Marist School’s original campus in downtown Atlanta. All alumni from the classes of 1935-1966 were invited to Marist School’s current campus for the luncheon to reunite with friends and classmates and reconnect with the school.
Marist values and spirituality permeate all areas of Marist School, which is part of a worldwide network of Marist and Marist-sponsored schools under the auspices of the Society of Mary. At all Marist schools, educators are responsible for living and sharing Marist values with their students and the school community. To make sure Marist educators are well equipped with knowledge about Marist values and the Marist philosophy of education, the Society of Mary holds an annual Marist Educators Workshop for key school personnel. This year, the workshop was hosted in June by Marist School at the St. Ignatius Retreat House in Sandy Springs, Ga.
Marist School has won the Georgia Athletic Directors Association (GADA) Director's Cup for the 2017-2018 year. It is the 19th consecutive year that the War Eagles have won the Director's Cup, awarded to recognize the Athletic Programs in each GHSA classification that have excelled and shown superior performance.
