    Marist School Pivots to Virtual Learning

    On Wednesday, March 18, Marist School marked both the beginning of Term 3 and the transition to virtual learning. In response to the global pandemic COVID-19 and with just a 72-hour notice, Marist completely shifted academic learning online, calling on faculty, staff, and students to begin a learning journey they had never previously undertaken.

  • 2020 Blue & Gold Circle Inductees Announced

    The Blue & Gold Athletics Circle was establish in 2003 to honor those who have made outstanding contributions to Marist School Athletics.  Selection takes into consideration personal excellence in athletics, academics and service to the Marist School community.

    The 2020 Blue & Gold Circle Inductees were recently announced are:
    Douglas Coffed (2004) Cross Country & Track
    Chris Davis (2004) Football & Baseball
    Andrew Dete (2005) Football

  • Marist Cross Country Head Coach Matt McMurray Named Most Positive Boys Coach in Atlanta

    Marist Cross Country Head Coach Matt McMurray was recently named Most Positive Boys Coach Regional Award winner by Positive Athlete, a national organization that promotes high school student-athletes and coaches that are high character, teamwork oriented leaders and show heart for their school and community.

    Positive Athlete received nominations from over 420 Georgia high schools this year and only about 2% of coaches nomined are recognized as regional winners.  Coach McMurray is now eligible to potentially win a state-wide award that will be announced in June.

  • Matthew Pinto Named Most Positive Boys Tennis Athlete in Atlanta

    Marist senior Matthew Pinto was recently named Positive High School Athlete (Boys Tennis) Regional Award winner by Positive Athlete, a national organization that promotes high school student-athletes that are high character, teamwork oriented leaders and show heart for their school and community.

    Positive Athlete received over 5,000 nominations from over 420 Georgia high schools this year and only about 7% of nominees are recognized as regional winners.  Matthew is now eligible to potentially win a state-wide award and one of several college scholarships that will be announced in June.

  • Quinn Harron Awarded Vincent Dooley Award and Scholarship

    Athletes for a Better World and the Georgia High School Association recently announced the Vincent J Dooley Award and Scholarship winners.  Marist senior Quinn Harron and Sovi Wellons of The Heritage School were name as the two recipients of the 4-year scholarships of $1000 per year.  In addition, each wil also receive $500 to donate to the charitable organization of their choice.

    The Vincent J Dooley Award and Scholarship is presented annually to one male and one female senior athlete, chosen for their distinguished individual character, outstanding teamwork and citizenship.  Every Georgia high school is asked to nominate a senior male and female for consideration.  Each nominee must complete an online process and are reviewed by a selection committee.

    Quinn Harron achieved a 4.39 GPA and will join the Swimming team at Harvard University.  He is a Scholastic All-American in addition to being a U.S. Open and Junior National swimming qualifier in addition to being named the Georgia High School Coaches Association 4A-5A Swimmer-of-the-Year.  Quinn's community volunteerism includes participation in the Swim Across America for cancer research, Meals By Grace for childhood hunger and Friday Night Lights young swimmer mentoring program.

    Senior Girls Lacrosse standout, Emma Strickland was the senior female student-athlete nominated by Marist School.
