Technology

As a 1:1 school, Marist students use technology seamlessly in their pursuit of excellence in the academic, religious, extracurricular, leadership, and service areas. Each Marist student is issued a convertible tablet, allowing him/her to use the computer like a traditional laptop or as a tablet with a stylus.  Marist students are moving toward a paperless note-taking model, utilizing cloud storage and submitting work digitally. One of our goals is to help Marist students become responsible users of technology. As such, Digital Citizenship is addressed throughout the curriculum as well as in special events scheduled to reinforce appropriate and ethical use of technology.

Technology facilitates Marist teachers in the roles of mentor, coach, facilitator, and leader. Using their own tablet computers, Marist faculty project to interactive, wireless-enabled projectors in classrooms equipped with flexible seating, DVD players, document cameras, and audio systems. Faculty use software and web-based tools to support collaborative opportunities, distribute class resources, and provide information about assignments and class activities.

In addition to providing and maintaining hardware, software, and infrastructure, the Technology Department offers a monthly schedule of professional learning opportunities for faculty, staff and students. Individual assistance is available at our Technology Center located on the third floor of the Wooldridge Building or by email at helpdesk@marist.com
