This award honors a coach for his or her contribution to the Marist community. It recognizes the years of training self-discipline, practice and dedication that prepared the honoree for the demands and challenges of coaching. It reminds us of the coach's sacrifice and commitments of himself to the development of the Marist athlete, and the athlete's success in sports and in life.
Ultimately, the Frank Hagan award honors the coach's ascent to excellence and the attainment of Marist Athletics' most noble aspirations; inspiring growth and personal excellence through competition, sportsmanship and teamwork.
Last year’s winner, Coach Chandler Yount, will have his name added along with the names of previous honorees, to the Memorial Trophy for permanent display at Marist School. The sculpture, representing the Marist War Eagle, is the work of Turner Sculpture located on Virginia's eastern shore. The sculpture was donated to Marist by Frank Hagan's son, Norvin ('68). Coach Beebe will also receive and honorarium and personal plaque as a remembrance of this honor.
