The mission of Marist School is to form the whole person in the image of Christ through instruction grounded in religious values, the teachings of the Catholic Church, and the spirit of the Society of Mary. This mission is advanced through communal pursuit of excellence in academic, religious, extracurricular, leadership, and service programs. Although Marist School is a school for students in grades 7 through 12, we know that our 7th and 8th grade students are at a different point in their lives cognitively, physically, and emotionally. Marist works to address these needs both in and out of the classroom through Foundations. Our Foundations teachers are individuals who have a love for teaching middle school students and are committed to helping guide students through the sometimes tumultuous middle school years.
Marist is blessed to have a wide variety of activities in which Foundations students can participate throughout the year, including a full range of academic and athletic activities. Foundations students are as involved in Campus Ministry as our high school students. All Marist students have an opportunity to participate in mission trips, and all participate in community service. In addition, there are two retreats specifically for Foundations students. Damascus, which is the 7th grade retreat, takes place during the fall of a student's 7th grade year. Antioch, the 8th grade retreat, takes place during the spring of a student's 8th grade year.
