Retreats

Marist School Retreat Program

Marist School offers multiple opportunities for students to participate in retreats at each grade level. All retreats are led by students who are chosen and trained by faculty members to provide a meaningful and fun experience for students to grow in their relationship with God. Retreats are voluntary, and over 90% of the students participate in a retreat during their time at Marist.

Retreats by Grade Level

List of 6 items.

  • Damascus (7th Grade)

Damascus is offered to 7th grade students on a Saturday in the fall.  The retreat is led by 11th and 12th grade students who lead retreatants through community-building activities, small group faith-sharing and communal prayer experiences. Parents and families are invited to participate in the closing Mass.
  • Antioch (8th Grade)

Antioch is offered to 8th grade students, usually on a Saturday in January.  The daylong retreat prepares students for the ups and downs of high school and challenges students to commit to Marist values.
  • Genesis (9th Grade)

Genesis is an overnight, off-site retreat for 9th grade students, offered twice during the school year. The retreat is led by 10th grade students who have participated in Genesis. They lead small group discussions and activities for participants to grow in their relationships with self, family, friends, and God.
  • Nazareth (10th Grade)

Nazareth is offered twice each year to 10th grade students. This overnight, off-site retreat is led by 11th grade students who share the development of their faith journey. Participants are encouraged to reflect on how discipleship impacts their relationships with others.
  • Galilee (11th grade)

Galilee is an overnight retreat for 11th grade students held in February. Led by seniors, this urban retreat experience challenges juniors to consider how God is calling them as they participate in community service, individual reflection, and small group activities.
  • Emmaus (11th & 12th Grade)

Emmaus is a weekend retreat for 11th and 12th grade students offered in October, January, and February. Seniors who have made an Emmaus retreat are eligible to attend the special "Senior Emmaus Retreat" held in May. An extension of the Emmaus experience is the faith-sharing meeting on the first Monday of each month. All juniors and seniors are welcome whether or not they have attended an Emmaus weekend.
